SITUATION + ASK:

Latinas in Tech is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 with the mission to connect, support and empower Latina women working in technology.

Their annual event, the Latinas in Tech Summit, gathers hundreds of Latinas looking to network, search for new opportunities, and advance their careers.

In 2024, as the organization planned its most ambitious summit yet, Latinas in Tech partnered with Twin Minds Media to raise awareness, generate buzz, and drive ticket sales. Following the campaign’s success, Twin Minds Media continued collaborating with the organization in 2025, further amplifying its visibility and impact across the tech and Hispanic communities.

STRATEGY OVERVIEW:

A comprehensive event PR strategy was developed to maximize visibility for the 2024 and 2025 Latinas in Tech Summits and the Latinas in Tech organization among key target audience segments. This was achieved through strategic media relations efforts and carefully curated influencer marketing partnerships that involved organic and paid collaborations.

The strategy was structured into three phases, ensuring continuous engagement and momentum leading up to the summit:

  • Pre-event: early media relations and influencer outreach, pitching, and press release distribution. As the event drew closer, influencer and media engagements were amplified to create buzz and increase excitement. 
  • Summit day: PR team coordinated on-site media interviews and monitored real-time influencer coverage across social media platforms.
  • Post-event: media follow-ups and distribution of the Annual Member Report.

The release of the Annual Member Report provided data and insights that the PR team was able to leverage for additional outreach and tailored media pitches to top journalists across the tech, business, and entrepreneurship verticals.

A total of 108 earned media placements were secured for Latinas in Tech across regional, national and local outlets during the 3-month campaigns.
